Toowoomba based heavy equipment manufacturer, Gessner Industries has used the AgQuip 2017 field days as a launch pad to debut its new Patriot seeder.
According to the company, the Patriot fills the gap between its existing Scarimaster and Landmaster units to offer a now expansive range of seeding and cultivation equipment to Australian farmers.
“It’s a lighter machine, easy to adjust, and the style of planting that it does is very similar to the Landmaster,” says Gessner Industries’ Paul Anderson.

“It is probably suited for lighter country for your standard cereal crops. We build this machine from 9m to 36m in all sorts of configurations to suit different needs.
“The Patriot will also disturb less soil than the Landmaster or Scarimaster, so you’re preserving ground soil moisture.”
Depending on the need of farmers, the Patriot can be specified with a range of widths (9m, 12m, 18m, 24m or 36m) and configurations (three section single fold, five section single fold, five section double fold, or seven section), depending on the widths of the units.
Each floating hitch frame features three 100mm x 100mm x 9mm toolbars designed to accommodate row spacing of 250mm, 300mm, 333mm, 375mm, 400mm or 500mm.
Large floatation tyres mounted on castor frames at the front, and fixed mounts at the rear of the machine serve to support the Patriot parallelogram unit.
The planter weighs 80kg, and has a hydraulic breakout force ranging from 136kg (300lbs) to 317.5kg (700lbs)
Standard seeding depth of the Patriot is 150mm, adjustable in 6mm increments. Semi pneumatic v-shaped press wheels offer a packing pressure of 90.7kg (200lbs).

The heavy duty fabricated parallelogram system on the Patriot has a 500mm range of travel; 200mm down and 300mm up from working height.
In addition to broadacre equipment, Gessner Industries also manufactures a range of machinery for the row crop and sugar cane sectors, including cultivators, fertilisers, mulchers and more.
Gessner Industries also offers a range of products suited for the earthmoving industry such as dozer blades and dozer attachments.
