Making its public debut at the 2018 AgQuip field days, the CLAAS CONVIO draper headers have been designed with Australian farmers in mind.
"CLAAS has offered a draper front in the past that was brought in small numbers into the Australian market but wasn’t suited to our conditions, so this is why so much research has gone into this new front," said CLAAS Harvest Centre product manager, Jonathon Ham.
Offered in widths of 13.8, 12.2 and 10.8m in both rigid and flexible formats, the CONVIO fronts are suitable for cereal crops and canola with cross augers installed which are available as an option.
"As far as draper fronts go, it’s really quite good in direct heading canola so we think that’s a unique selling feature for the front," Ham said.
All header functions are controllable via the CEBIS terminal in the LEXION combine harvester cab, including belt speed, header height, flex, contour setting and more.
