AgQuip 2018 just around the corner

Australia’s largest primary industry event promises to be bigger and better

The 46th Commonwealth Bank AgQuip field days is making its return this August from the 21 to 23 at its purpose built site in Gunnedah, NSW, with over 3000 exhibitors having signed up to display their wares and services at the annual event.

Organisers said despite the extremely dry conditions over the eastern part of the country, all field day sites have been booked out.

“Commonwealth Bank AgQuip has a full house of exhibitors and all indications lead us to believe we will also see strong attendance from farmers and primary industry people from all over the nation – offering a time for talking, supporting and caring,” said Fairfax Rural Events Group Manager, Kate Nugent.

Some of the latest machinery will be on display at AgQuip 2018

“It demonstrates the industry on both sides, continues to value and place a vast importance on the face-to-face connections, direct farmer feedback they get at the event and offering a social meeting place for rural Australia.

“The 2018 season is proving tough for many farmers, yet we know they must continue, and AgQuip is there to help.”

This year, organisers have arranged for a seminar room to be available specifically for drought support and mental health discussion purposes, and have invited a number of rural and regional support organisations to be involved.

Over the three days of AgQuip, programs in the seminar room will cover mental health, general health, financial support, hot topics, soap box issues and more.  It will be a free service for all visitors to the show, where free coffee, tea and soft drinks will also be served.

Every year, AgQuip serves as the platform for many businesses to launch new products and this year is no different. Some new products visitors can expect to see at AgQuip 2018 include:

  • AGCO Challenger’s new gen MT700 series tracked tractors
  • Kawasaki’s Mule Pro-MX side-by-side. There will be a demo track on site where visitors can take the new machine or Kawasaki’s range of ag units for a spin.
  • Case IH’s new Farmall JXM mid-horsepower tractor with up to 90hp, and ClearVu cloud-based farm management tool
  • CLAAS’ CONVIO draper fronts for its LEXION combine harvesters that ensures smooth flow of cut material with minimal grain loss.
  • HR Products’ B-Hyve Smart Wi-Fi irrigation using WeatherSense technology
  • Agrowplow’s new AD730 seed drill

Case IH's Farmall JXM tractor will make its debut at the 2018 AgQuip field days

There will be plenty of machinery and technology demonstrations as well, including a live demo of dam construction using GPS guidance systems fitted to dozers and excavators, to be carried out by the Soil Conservation Service.

The NSW Government will also be launching its virtual reality training program for quad bike users at AgQuip to raise awareness on safety around ATVs.

There is a free AgQuip app that visitors can download to help them navigate the field days site or to plan their visit.

AgQuip also lays claims to the best steak sandwiches in the world, but that’s up to patrons to decide!
