The annual AgQuip field days will make a return to its purpose-built site in Gunnedah (NSW) this year from August 22 to 24.
The event is celebrating its 45th year in 2017, and will feature over 3000 products and services catering to all sectors within the rural and agricultural industry.
Every year, exhibitors use the field days as a launch pad to unveil new products, services and technology to the farming community.
One of the key attractions this year is Case IH’s prototype driverless, cabless tractor, named the AVC (Autonomous Concept Vehicle). It caused quite a stir when it made its debut in the US last year, demonstrating its ability to operate autonomously while puling a range of implements behind it. Case IH’s Optum and Steiger CVT tractors will also make their Australian debut at the field days.
New Holland will also be showcasing its NH Drive Concept Autonomous Tractor in Australia for the very first time at AgQuip. The machine made its global debut at the same time as Case IH’s ACV unit, at the Farm Progress event in Boone, Iowa in August 2016. Unlike Case IH’s machine, New Holland’s tractor has an actual cabin and is designed to work with or without an operator in the cab. It can be controlled remotely using a desktop computer or via a portable tablet interface.
About 100,000 visitors are expected to descend upon the field days over the three-day period.
Admission to the field days is free.
