German agricultural implement company AMAZONE has unveiled its new UX01 Super linkage sprayer range featuring tank volumes of 6200, 5200 or 4200 litres; and Super-L2 booms from 27 to 40 metres.
All models feature a covered underbelly that allows plants to pass smoothly underneath the machine.
“One of the most striking features of the UX01 Super are the grey covers on either side of the sprayer,” says CLAAS Harvest Centre Product Manager for AMAZONE, Craig Hopkins.
“Underneath the left-hand cover is the SmartCenter, which hosts the operator station, induction bowl, fill ports and two dustproof storage compartments.

“Under the right-hand cover is an additional 240-litre lockable storage compartment with removable shelf. Both covers swing upwards to allow easy filling and operation.”
An optional LED lighting package mounted underneath the covers allows easy operation at night.
All operations are controlled using a seven-way pressure tap.
“This allows each function to be easily selected without having to open or close separate circuits,” Hopkins explains.
“Once the desired function is selected, the relevant valve for the corresponding circuit opens.
“It also means the fresh water rinse tank can be topped up whilst the sprayer is being filled.”
The 60-litre induction bowl is located directly underneath the control valves. It features a conical shape, centralised aperture and 200L/min suction capacity to ensure quick, trouble-free filling and complete emptying.
An additional mixing nozzle positioned underneath the suction aperture prevents blockages when inducting powders or granular products.
The intensity of both the mixing nozzle and rinse ring can be adjusted.

The induction bowl can also be supplied with fresh water via the optional rinse water pump when pressure filling from a bowser.
A new canister cleaning nozzle, positioned to the right hand side of the bowl, is activated by pushing down and can also be used to clean the induction bowl when the lid is closed.
The induction bowl lid has a measuring jug holder as well as two run-off channels for the draining of canisters after rinsing.
The UX01 can be equipped with the optional Comfort-Pack plus terminal, which provides fully automatic control of agitation intensity, fill stop function, boom rinsing, line cleaning, tank cleaning and tank-mix dilution.
The touchscreen display provides easy control of all functions even while using gloves.
“The user just selects the desired function and the sprayer adjusts itself automatically,” Hopkins says.
“The operator just has to couple the hose and the machine will automatically fill the spray tank and fresh water rinse tank up to the desired tank fill levels.”

The UX01 also features an optional steering axle, which maximum steering angle of 28 degrees achieves a minimum turning radius of 4.5m.
All booms can be controlled using the electro-hydraulic Profi-folding system in conjunction with the automatic DistanceControl or DistanceControl Plus; or the new ContourControl vertical boom movement and SwingStop yaw prevention systems.
AMAZONE farm machinery is distributed in Australia by the CLAAS Harvest Centre network.
