Set up in 2013 by The Give Back Campaign, 'Buy a Bale' asks for Australians to offer their time and money to help farmers in crisis.
Producers in drought affected areas, such as northern New South Wales and Queensland, are struggling to keep their businesses afloat or feed their families, as their pasture dry up and livestock do not receive enough food to stay alive.
The campaign asks for people to spare some cash to buy a bale of hay which will be delivered by volunteers to those in need.
In addition to money, other forms of donation including groceries, diesel for transportation, and corporate donations have been received by the charity over the years from both individuals and businesses.
One such corporation is David Evans Group, which hopped on board earlier this year to lend a helping hand.
From now until December 16, 2016, David Evans Group pledge to donate $2 from every pack of twine sold at its four Queensland outlets in Toowoomba, Gatton, Brisbane and Nambour to 'Buy a Bale'.
The business hopes to raise $6000 over four months for the appeal.
"David Evans Group sees this initiative as an opportunity to give back to their rural communities and farmers who have supported them over a period of change and restructure," the company says.
In addition to donating proceeds from its twine sales to 'Buy A Bale', David Evans Group has also placed donation barrels across its four stores in which customers can slip in some spare cash or coins to contribute to the cause.
"It doesn’t matter whether people are in the market for farm machinery or equipment and supplies, if they are passionate about the plight of Aussie farmers, they can call into any of our stores and do their bit to help get farmers through this tough time," David Evans Group says.
