Case IH’s largest tractor to date, also one of the largest tractors currently on the market – the Steiger 715 Quadtrac - has taken out the top prize at the annual Tractor of the Year awards, handed out last week at the EIMA International agricultural trade show in Bologna, Italy.
The Case IH 715 was named the winner in the High-power category for tractors over 300hp, a new addition for the 2025 awards.
A judging panel comprising a group of highly esteemed journalists from all over Europe decided to award the tractor due to its massive power offering and impressive suite of technology.
“In a competitive environment where power, efficiency, and sustainability are crucial, the prestigious Tractor of the Year 2025 jury chose the Case IH Quadtrac 715 as the winner in the HighPower category,” the jury said.
“This decision reflects the Quadtrac 715’s superiority in performance, ergonomics, connectivity, and environmental care, making it the most significant choice for large-scale agricultural operations.”
While it is capable of delivering a maximum 715hp, the Case IH Steiger 715 Quadtrac has a light footprint thanks to its four-track system.
It also boasts bigger drive wheels, a 16-speed powershift transmission, and a Stage 5 compliant FPT Cursor 16 engine that meets the latest engine emissions standards.
The tractor is also as advanced as it is powerful, putting all the latest technology and comfort at the driver’s fingertips. The tractor features Case IH’s AFS Connect system - the company’s precision agriculture product which offers remote monitoring, data transfer, and ISOBUS support.
Additionally, the cabin is equipped with a state-of-the-art infotainment system, including Bluetooth, DAB radio, and premium speakers with a subwoofer, providing the operator with a comfortable and connected environment.
Also new in this year’s awards is a mid-power category, dedicated to tractors with power output ranging between 150 and 280hp. The award was given to Fendt’s 620 Vario DP, with the judges citing the tractor’s revolutionary iD engine concept, power-to-weight-ratio, advanced technology and operator comfort as key reasons for its win.
“The Fendt 620 Vario DP is a brilliant example of balance: power, technology, and efficiency blend to create a machine that meets the diverse needs of modern farmers,” the jury said.
In addition to the high and mid-power categories, the Tractor of the Year jury also handed out a Tractor of the Year (TOTY) Utility award to the Steyr 4120 Plus; a TOTY Specialised award to the Antonio Carraro Tony 8900 TRG and a Sustainable TOTY to Fendt’s e107 Vario fully electric tractor.
Another new category in this year’s awards is TOTYBOT which focuses on robotic tractors without cabins but are equipped with 3-point hitch, PTO, or electric power transfer to implements. It was ultimately won by the AgXeed 5.115T2.
“What truly sets the AgXeed 5.115T2 apart is its remarkable adaptability: the tractor integrates seamlessly with standard implements thanks to a rear lifting capacity of 8000kg and a front capacity of 4000kg, supported by a powerful hydraulic system with a flow rate of 85l/min,” the judges explained.
“These features allow it to handle a wide range of implements without the need for modifications, making it a versatile choice for farmers looking to optimize their operations with minimal changes.”
Its diesel powertrain, which delivers a peak power of 115kW and a maximum torque of 610Nm also won the judges over.
“While fully electric tractors are gaining popularity, the AgXeed’s diesel system currently offers greater efficiency and extended operational time, capable of working for up to 20 hours,” the jury said.
“This feature makes it particularly practical for applications that require long work sessions.”
It is also loaded with tech and safety systems that enable it to work on its own for longer compared to conventional human-operated machines.
