It has been six decades since Case IH unveiled its flagship Steiger range of high-powered tractors, and now the company has taken things to the next level by adding its AFS Connect tech to the line-up.
AFS Connect is Case IH’s new connectivity feature that promises farmers increased productivity and flexibility with the way they carry out their work.
The technology was first rolled out in its Magnum tractor range to start with and after much success, has been carried across to the Steiger series as well.
The AFS Connect Steiger series will be available in Quadtrac®, Rowtrac™ and wheeled configurations from 400 to 600hp.
“From the design upgrades and enhancements to the suite of new technology driving new levels of efficiency and productivity, the AFS Connect Steiger delivers the connectivity that enables producers to control and oversee their operation from not only the tractor cab, but from home, in the shed, or wherever they may be,” said Case IH Australia and NZ Steiger Product Manager, Jason Wood.
Essentially, the AFS Connect is a technology package consisting of three components that work together to provide farmers with the information and functionality that they need.
The AFS Pro 1200 Display is easy to view night and day and features exterior camera feeds, easy Bluetooth® pairing to link a mobile device, and remote display viewing to connect operators with farm managers seamlessly.
That allows farm managers to be able to look at the screen and aid operators from wherever they are, if operators ran into any issues, for example.
This function also allows dealers to troubleshoot any problems remotely without them having to physically attend the site.
The display is powered by the AFS Vision Pro operating system, which works just like a smartphone or tablet to allow producers to control the tractor easily.
Finally, the AFS Vector Pro receiver streamlines guidance correction options, ranging from base (AFS 1) to medium (AFS 2) to high (RTK) accuracy levels.
In addition to the AFS Connect, Case IH has also listened to customers’ feedback and redesigned the cab to offer more comfort features than ever.
These include standard leather 40-degree swivel seats with ventilation, new climate control system, 29 power connectors and ports, advanced steering system with adjustable steering rates, 360-degree performance lighting and the ergonomic MultiControl armrest with multiple configurable function and control buttons.
Case IH said the AFS Connect Steiger is now available for order in Australia and urges those interested to contact their local dealership for more information or to place an order.
