Case IH orchard tractor has arrived
Case IH’s latest specialty workhorse has a ‘Mad Max’ feel to it, thanks to its roll cage design for use in orchards and nut plantations
The Case IH Farmall C Orchard Cab tractor has been designed to fill a gap in the market for a specialised tractor that is suitable for use in fruit and nut growing operations executing a range of tasks such as mowing, fertilising and spraying.
Its distinctive armoured vehicle look, along with the roll cage design, makes it look like a prop used on the set of cult Aussie dystopian action film, Mad Max.
The orchard fenders and toughened glass are key design elements on a specialty orchard tractor to provide durability to the tractor and to ensure the safety of the operator.
The Case IH Farmall C Orchard Cab tractor has a height of just over 2m, allowing it to navigate rows of trees with ease without damaging tree limbs and valuable fruit.
While the machine and the low profile cab has been designed specifically for almonds, the machine is as well suited for use in macadamia plantations, Case IH said.
The tractor has been demonstrated on multiple farms around the country, from Mildura in Victoria to Bundaberg in Queensland, and has attracted a fair amount of attention from growers, who really liked what they saw.
According to Sunshine Coast Case IH dealership, TMI, which hosted the demo days for farmers, a fair few comments were made about the height, cab comfort and overall set-up of the tractor.
“We've got a lot of macadamia farms around our region, and a couple of these farmers were really keen on what the orchard cab tractor could do and the benefits of having one as part of their operations,” said Shane Green from TMI.
“In our area, there's also a lot of potential for persimmons and limes, too."
Case IH said despite the tractor’s low profile, comfort in the cab has not been compromised. The tractor comes with climate control, ergonomic controls and 360-degree view through windows recessed into the cab. An integrated ROPS (Rollover Protection Structure) helps safeguard the operator no matter where the tractor is being used.

- Interior dome light aiding evening and early morning work
- Additional 49-litre fuel tank
