Case IH Australia has announced its special edition Patriot 4430 sprayers, which have been given an eye-catching makeover, are now available through its dealer network across the country.
In conjunction with the Patriot's 25th anniversary, Case IH has given a limited number of Patriot sprayers a silver and red paint job, as well as decking them with decals highlighting the anniversary and the latest technology such as the new AIM Command FLEX advanced spray technology.
One customer, farmer Andrew Lowien from Bellata (NSW), recently took delivery of one of the special-edition Patriots and is already seeing some results thanks to the high tech features.
He and his brother Grant run a farm about 25km east of Bellata covering more than 2700ha. He says owning a sprayer with the latest technological advances that allows for a faster and more efficient spraying operation is paramount.
"I haven’t done a lot with it yet, but it’s already living up to expectations," Lowien says.
"Just the stability of the boom, and the width – I notice I’m getting more done."
He adds the Patriot’s AIM Command FLEX advanced spray system particularly stood out for him.
"One of my neighbours had a Patriot and it’s been pretty tough for them in that it’s stood up to everything they’ve thrown at it," he says.
"So I took theirs for a run and liked it. I liked the boom stability and I’d researched a lot of the other features of the new system. I knew I wanted the AIM Command FLEX.”
Case IH's AIM Command FLEX system offers multiple features that the company says will offer farmers a good return in investment. This includes the ability to adjust spray rates up to 30 per cent higher than the target rate on up to eight nozzles, with a single push of a button.
In addition, several levels of boom section control are available. This means the same machine has the flexibility to spray with seven boom sections, thirty-six sections or individual nozzle control, providing more precise control across the boom and throughout the field.
Other new features on the limited edition Patriot include a 360-degree lighting package option and new Case IH family cab styling which Lowien really liked.
"The spaciousness of the cab is great and the lack of noise," he says.
"I’ve had another brand and it was just noisy – the constant, loud noise was getting to me after a while."
Other than that, the Patriots retain all other tried and tested components including the cab-forward, rear engine design; Michelin tyres; Raven Industries technology and Wilger Combo-Rate nozzle bodies.
"When Case IH brought the first 4260 Patriots to Australia almost 20 years ago, it changed what growers thought of when it came to a self-propelled sprayer," says Case IH Australia and New Zealand High Horsepower and Sprayer Product Manager, Alyx Selsmeyer.
"Features like the cab-forward rear-engine design and near 50-50 weight distribution were as important then as they are now. Combine that with industry-leading technology to improve accuracy, and it shows why the Patriot has always been a strong machine in Australia."
