Case IH's most powerful tractor descended upon Dowerin
Massive 645hp tractor turned heads in the WestThe highest horsepower tractor in Case IH’s range in Australia & New Zealand – and one of the most powerful tractors available in the local market today - has arrived on our shores, packing an impressive 645hp under the bonnet as well as a bunch of upgrades.
Australian farmers got their first look at the Case IH AFS Connect Steiger 645 Quadtrac at the Dowerin Machinery Field Days in Western Australia, following the official launch of the new range at the AgQuip field days at Gunnedah, NSW, where the new AFS Connect 550 Quadtrac took centre-stage.
The 2023 Dowerin Field Days were held on August 30 and 31.
The MY24 Steiger range for the local market features a number of new models and increased levels of cab comfort and AFS Connect data management technology.
The model offering comprises:
- Rowcrop Wheeled models from 425 to 525hp
- Wideframe Wheeled models from 555 to 645hp
- Scraper models from 555 to 645hp
- Quadtrac models from 475 to 645hp
- Rowtrac models from 425 to 525hp
Some key upgrades in the MY24 Case IH Steiger range include:
- A new FPT 13-litre cursor engine for greater power and faster engine response
- Newly designed cab roof styling with integrated overhead grab rails for operator security
- Updated cab interior with new headliner, overhead console and ram mount rails
- The option of a second AFS Pro 1200 display option from factory
- A new premium sound option, with an amplifier, tweeters, 6.5-inch subwoofer with ported box and additional speaker grills
- Enhanced LED lighting package with greater output options for 360-degree night lighting

Case IH Australia and New Zealand Product Manager for High Horsepower Tractors, Justin Bryant, was at the Dowerin field days and said the 645 Quadtrac had turned a lot of heads.
“There were a lot of comments about the power of this machine and just what it was capable of on-farm. A tractor with this kind of horsepower can fulfill the heaviest of tasks with a level of ease and performance we haven’t seen before,” he said.
“This, combined with the upgraded connectivity and technology on the MY24 Steiger range, makes them an attractive addition to any large-scale farming operation.”
