CLAAS has introduced a new operating system for its next generation of AXION 900/800 and ARION 600/500 tractors.
CLAAS Harvest Centre CLAAS Tractors Group Product Manager Dave Knowles, says the CLAAS Information System Plus (CIS+) system complements the basic CIS and the state-of-the-art CEBIS systems.
"CIS+ is an intermediate system that is aimed at customers who want greater convenience and efficiency but do not need all the functionality of the CEBIS system," he says.
"Importantly, it offers customers the option of using the CMATIC continuously variable transmission without the CEBIS system."
CIS+ is based on a multi-function armrest with a newly designed ELECTROPILOT four-way joystick and DRIVESTICK control lever. The DRIVESTICK can be used to operate the CMATIC or HEXASHIFT powershift transmission.
"The DRIVESTICK comes with proportional control, which means that the further it is pushed or pulled, the faster the transmission accelerates or brakes the tractor," Knowles says.
"When accelerator pedal mode is selected, the DRIVESTICK can be used to manually intensify or reduce the engine braking effect.
"It also incorporates a cruise control button that can save the current forward speed simply by pressing button."
The ELECTROPILOT four-way control lever offers the operator complete control of tractor travel and hydraulic functions.
The CIS+ equipment package includes a 178 mm (7-inch) CIS colour display built into the A-pillar that allows the driver to configure all key tractor and implement functions in one screen.
"It includes many of the functions previously only found on the CEBIS system," Knowles says.
"For example, volume and time control for individual spool valves is included, and up to four sequences can be recorded with the CSM headland management system.
"The driver can also directly control ISOBUS-compatible machines during operation by means of the ISOBUS interfaces and configurable 'function' buttons."
Factory-fitted CLAAS GPS steering and the CLAAS TELEMATICS remote monitoring systems are also available.
The CIS+ operating system, along with the new generation AXION 900/800 and ARION 600/500 tractors will be available to order in New Zealand and Australia in early 2018.
