It has been over 40 years since the Versatile 1080, also affectionately known as the ‘Big Roy’, rolled off the production line.
It was widely believed that the Versatile 1080 was manufactured back in 1977 to compete with the Big Bud 747, which to this day remains the world’s largest tractor. The Big Roy produced around 600hp back then, but was discontinued in the same year.
Today, Versatile continues its legacy as a manufacturer of quality, high powered articulated tractors, based in Manitoba, Canada. Its 620 DeltaTrack model is shod with four 30-inch CAMSO tracks front and rear, and feature Cummins engine technology with an impressive output of 620hp.
It features a heavy duty CAT TA22 powershift transmission with 16 forward and four reverse gears to match a range of applications. It is capable of road speeds of up to 35km/h.
This particular model for sale only has 526 hours on the odometer, and is the final 620DT by the dealer on offer. It retails for $550,000 on farmmachinerysales.com.au, which the seller claims is almost $100,000 off RRP.
It has a deluxe cab package with one of the industry’s largest cabs. The semi active heated air suspension seat ensures operators work in utmost comfort, while leather upholstery adds a touch of luxury.
Cabin suspension cushions all shocks and vibrations to provide a comfortable and smooth ride for the operator.
A HiFlo load sensing closed centre hydraulics system offers a 208l/min flow and four electro-hydraulic remote valves.
With an operating weight of 27.6 tonnes, the Versatile 620 DT is suitable for broadacre farming and is ready for the most demanding of applications.
