CNH Industrial, Microsoft join forces

CNH Industrial has announced its partnership with software giant Microsoft to offer more advanced technological services to customers across its ag and commercial vehicle brands.

The Digital Transformation Project will see CNH Industrial’s agricultural businesses – Case IH and New Holland, as well as its commercial vehicle brand, IVECO, receive a range of services designed to offer customers easier and quicker access to vehicle data.

The new Service Delivery Platform will be powered by Microsoft Azure cloud and its intelligent technologies.

As a result of the project, it is expected that CNH Industrial’s new generation of agricultural machines will be equipped with new connectivity technologies to help users transmit agronomic data gathered during operation easily and effectively.

In regards to CNH Industrial’s commercial vehicle brand IVECO, the Service Delivery Platform is expected to help fleet managers and individual operators monitor a whole host of parameters including internal mechanics, fuel consumption, driving style and more. Fleet managers can then share certain data with partners and suppliers through the platform.

CNH Industrial will also take advantage of Microsoft’s Enterprise Services division for the overall implementation of the Service Delivery Platform, leveraging the division’s expertise in realising complex digital transformation programs, from strategy through to delivery.

CNH Industrial is renowned for its trailblazing ways when it comes to advanced technological systems. In 2016, Case IH lifted the cover off its futuristic, driverless and cabless tractor concept which had the whole world talking. New Holland similarly released a driverless tractor around the same time featuring the same technology but is more down to earth with its design, as it features a cab and allows manual operation in addition to autonomous operation.
