Croplands Equipment has been appointed the exclusive Australian and New Zealand distributor for Nelson Hardie orchard sprayers, broadening its horticultural machinery offering with equipment designed for tall tree crops.
The appointment follows the sale of the Nelson Hardie business to Jas Thiara of MIS and gives Croplands responsibility for the full range of American-built orchard sprayers across both markets.
The lineup includes PTO-driven and engine-driven air blast sprayers designed for high-volume spraying in orchard applications. According to Croplands, the machines are particularly suited to tall tree crops such as almonds and macadamias, where greater spray reach and canopy coverage are required.
Croplands Commercial Manager, Sean Mulvaney, said local customers stand to benefit from this strengthened partnership.

"We have committed to strong local inventory and are actively assessing regional parts locations to ensure immediate delivery, improve service support and minimise downtime for growers during critical spray windows," Mulvaney said.
Croplands is also working with Nelson Hardie and local growers to refine the machines for Australian and New Zealand conditions, with a focus on improving spray performance, safety and long-term reliability.
"This is what Croplands is all about; we are confident the results will deliver benefits through enhanced performance and reduced maintenance to owners and operators."
Manufactured in California since the 1980s, Nelson Hardie sprayers feature heavy-duty chassis construction and stainless steel tanks, with models available in capacities up to 5000 litres. Engine-driven variants are powered by John Deere diesel engines.
Croplands says several models are already available ahead of the spring spraying season, with the range set to be displayed at this year's Riverland Field Days in September and the Australian Almond Conference in October. Demonstration opportunities for growers will also be offered.
