Corn growers operating John Deere's group six and seven S-Series combines can now opt to harvest their crops using the company's new folding eight-row corn head.
Traditionally, growers will need to transport the headers separately using header trailers but the new 608FC corn head folds up to a 3.3m width that is ideal for transporting on roads.
"The 608FC allows producers to spend more time in the field harvesting and less time in transport or having to remove or re-attach heads when moving from field to field," says John Deere Harvester Works senior marketing representative, Roger Maes.
"That helps contribute to their bottom line and make them much more productive and profitable."
The 608FC is available in 762mm (30-inch) row spacing with or without the stalk chopping option. It has an improved row unit slip clutch and drive shaft interface for longer machine life when harvesting more robust hybrids.
"It’s a much more durable, productive and economical option than other folding eight-row headers currently available, plus it’s fully supported by the extensive John Deere dealer network," Maes says.
