The 2016 EIMA International Agricultural and Gardening Machinery Exhibition is already breaking all records by featuring the highest number of exhibitors and innovation showcases in its 47 year history.
Held at the BolognaFiere exhibition centre in Bologna, Italy, the biennial event is organised by the Italian Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Federation (FederUnacoma) and will run from November 9 to 13 this year.
Eight temporary halls have been added to the original 16 halls to house a total of 1900 exhibitors coming from over 50 countries.
Around 50,000 machinery models are expected to be on display at the show, and more than 230,000 visitors are expected to stream through the gates.
The theme for the event this year is 'agricultural mechanization and automation', focusing on the technologies of the future. In line with the theme, 25 awards will be given to the best innovations at the show, as well as 74 'special mention' awards.
Key annual accolades such as the 'Tractor of the Year' will also be presented at the show.
At a press conference, FederUnacoma President, Massimo Goldoni, says the event is the product of a joint collaboration between industry and multiple government organisations.
"EIMA is the result of a great choral work of important partnerships, such as those of Itabia and EIMA Energy, BioHabitat and EIMA M.i.A., Unacma and Eima DESK, as well as Ascom and Galleria Cavour, connecting the event to city life through appeal and knowledge," he says.
The Councillor for Production Activities, Palma Costi who also presented at the conference says EIMA is an important event on the calendar to place Bologna and the region of Emilia Romagna on the world map.
