One of Victoria’s premier farming field days will be held next week on the first week of October, in conjunction with the school holidays.
It will return to its purpose built site at the Elmore Events Centre in Elmore, which is about a two hours’ drive from Melbourne and a half hour drive from Bendigo, Shepparton and Echuca.
Farmers and machinery enthusiasts can expect to see a wide display of innovative machinery and technology by over 700 exhibitors at the event.

Every year, the field days hands out a series of exhibitor and machinery awards which includes Australian Machine of the Year, Imported Machine of the Year and Advances in Technology and Innovation. This year, entries include an innovative scissor lift attachment called Skid Lift designed to be used with a skid steer loader, as well as a remote control loader by Kanga.

For fans of not-so-new machinery, there will be a display of restored and unrestored vintage tractors, presented by the Lockington & District Heritage Centre.
This year, donation points will be set up at ticket boxes and community catering outlets where patrons can tap their card and donate $2 each tap to help drought affected farmers.

“Agriculture is a challenging game and in the catchment areas that our visitors travel from this year certainly is no exception,” said Elmore Field Days’ President, Derek Shotton.
“Even if it has rained, there are folks out there that are in need of our support.”
He said the support for the field days has been astounding despite challenging conditions, with bookings for the sites filled up early and quickly.
“My committee has worked very hard over the last 12 months to deliver another high quality event for our district and our industry. We welcome you all to our Field Days and trust you all have a great day.”
In addition to machinery displays, children enjoying their school holidays at the field days can look forward to a fun filled day out with attractions such as face painting, camel rides, reptile shows, jumping castles and more.

Narelle Stone, known as ‘Victoria’s favourite librarian’, will be back presenting Quirky Tales with Narelle Stone by popular demand in the auditorium, where she will tell tales and get kids involved in her storytelling sessions.
Other programs include heritage horse demonstrations, shearing and wool-handling demonstrations, live music and an Ag Art Wear Competition.
