Held in the first week of October every year, the Elmore field days features the latest agricultural machinery and products, as well as events and entertainment for the family to enjoy.
Some of the programs on the itinerary this year include an equestrian showcase, cooking demonstrations, an ag art wear parade and a vintage tractor parade.
Farmers can also look forward to daily in-paddock machinery demonstrations to see for themselves the capabilities of the range of machinery currently available on the market.
This year, the Elmore field days shines a light on mental health awareness.
"In all communities there is always someone doing it harder than others and especially prevalent in our farming community," says Elmore field days President, Derek Shotton.
"With this in mind, the committee is very proud to highlight our Mental Health feature, called 'Put Up Your Hand'."
As part of the mental health awareness program, several personalities including AFL legend Jason McCartney, who survived the 2002 Bali bombings; and Narelle Fraser, a former Victorian Police detective who successfully overcame PTSD, will be sharing their stories.
"I encourage everyone to pop in and have a look and listen to all the industry speakers. You might pick up one thing, that could help you or a loved one in the future," Shotton says.
A handful of awards are handed out each year, including an Australian Machine of the Year award, a Technology and Innovation award, an Imported Machine of the Year award, a Best Overall Exhibit Award and more.
Among the new pieces of machinery that will be launched at the Elmore field days this year include Agrowplow's AD230 seed drill, the Massey Ferguson MF5700 series tractors, Kuhn's VB2200 series variable chamber round balers, Mahindra's new range of side-by-sides and 100hp tractor, and Deutz-Fahr's new 9 series tractors.
"The feeling in the local farming community is the most positive we have seen for many years," Shotton says.
"A good old fashioned winter and some mud around have lifted all our spirits… I trust everyone will find their visit (to the field days) worthwhile."
