Since its establishment in 1964, the Elmore field days has become somewhat of an institution among the farming community, not just in Victoria but in all of Australia.
This year, the event celebrates its 54th year and will once again return to its purpose-built site in Elmore, Victoria.
Visitors can expect a comprehensive display of the latest farm machinery and technology at the show.
“The season has turned the corner locally and we are looking at a promising year ahead,” says Elmore and District Machinery Field Days president, Derek Shotton.
“This has reflected in our exhibitors returning in their droves. The speed at which all the applications for sites this year came on was truly amazing.”
A key feature of the field days every year is the in-paddock machinery demonstrations which allow producers a good look at all types of machinery in action; from drones to balers, and from tillage equipment to spreaders.
Antique tractor fans can catch the vintage tractor parade that will run each afternoon over the three days. One of the oldest on show will be a HV McKay 5ft Harvester built in Sunshine in 1910, that was pulled by up to six horses back in the day.
There will also be an array of programs for the entire family to enjoy, including ewe trials, fashion shows, shearing demos, live music, face painting, and more.
A number of site and machinery awards will also be presented at the field days including Australian Machine of the Year, Imported Machine of the Year and Advances in Technology and Innovation.
