Farm World 2020 cancelled

Amid mounting coronavirus concerns in the community and Victoria state of emergency declaration

Gippsland’s leading farm expo, Farm World has pulled the pin on its event this year, originally scheduled to take place from March 26 to 29.

The cancellation follows the Federal and Victorian State Government’s ban of non-essential mass gatherings of over 500 people.

In a short statement posted on its Facebook page, Farm World’s organising committee said:

“Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, the State Government of Victoria has announced a State of Emergency which prohibits non-essential, organised public gatherings of more than 500 people within the State of Victoria for the next four weeks effective midday today.

“We regret to share that Farm World 2020, presented by Lardner Park has been cancelled. This decision was made after Premier Daniel Andrews’ State of Emergency announcement this morning.”

The announcement follows a slew of event cancellations after Prime Minister Scott Morrison introduced the ban on Friday March 13, which includes the popular Sydney Royal Easter Show.
