One of Victoria’s leading agricultural field days, Farm World, will return in 2019 with the theme of “Love Your Farmer” to celebrate the significant contribution farmers make to the population and the economy.
The event, to be held at the Lardner Park Events Centre in Warragul, VIC, will celebrate its 52nd year in 2019 and will feature all things farming, including agribusiness, machinery, tools, horticulture, animals and more. There will also be showcases of the latest agricultural technology such as drones to demonstrate the future of farming.
A new addition to the program in 2019 will be an equine extravaganza with four full days of horse related shows and competitions featuring Australian Stock Horses including a Super Horse Open Challenge and Junior Challenge, Dan Steers from Double Dan Australia, ASH Team Challenges and PCAV Team Competitions.
A highlight each year is the Telstra Women in Ag lunch which will be back in 2019 with a stellar line-up of presenters. The speakers for this year will be Melissa Connors, winner of the 2018 Victorian Agrifutures Rural Womens Award; organic farmer Amy Paul; and Gippsland beef producer Claire Templeton. The luncheon will be held from 12pm to 2pm on Thursday April 11 at a cost of $60, which includes entry into Farm World.
Another highlight is Farm World’s Fittest Farmer competition to be held on Sunday April 14 where farmers will go head to head in a series of fitness challenges.
Over the weekend, the Events Centre will transform into a marketplace where visitors can stock up on plenty of fresh produce and homemade treats including sweets, cupcakes, berries, jams and soaps. Glengarry’s Bushies Bakery will also be offering its famous variety of Hot Cross Buns, just in time for Easter.
Visitors of all ages can look forward to a wide range of programs catering to their needs at Farm World including helicopter rides, chainsaw carving, pony rides, live music and more.
