Farmet’s Diskomat disc cultivator range has been trialled extensively in Australian conditions in the past 12 months and have received rave reviews from Australian farmers, Serafin Machinery said.

The cultivators feature working widths ranging from 5m to 8.3m, and are currently available through Serafin Machinery, which is the exclusive distributor of the range in the country.

According to Serafin, the Farmet Diskomat cultivator discs feature a unique design and construction that makes them very versatile and efficient yet lightweight and compact enough to transport, and are low maintenance to boot.

The machines can be specified with a range of rear rollers so producers can be confident they are able to achieve the level finish they desire to prepare for a smooth sowing operation ahead.

The Farmet Diskomat speed discs, which are designed and manufactured in the Czech Republic, consists of two rows of 620mm wide scalloped disc blades with 1.1m between rows that allow for excellent trash flow. Behind the rows of discs are deflectors or clod boards that help crumble the soil for a level, consistent finish.

The discs are spaced 250mm apart to ensure excellent full-width cut out of soil and plant residue.

With the large discs and breakout of 350kg provided by heavy duty spring mounted arms, the Diskomat tillers are capable of cutting between 50mm and 180mm into the soil, with the depth easily adjusted using the distance washers on the roller piston rods.

The height of the deflectors can also be adjusted easily for ideal direction of the processed soil.

The Diskomat cultivator series is available in both rigid and folding frame models. A patented folding system on the folding models allows the machines to fold up to an ideal transport width of 3m and height of 4m so they can be safely and legally transported on the road.

The disc tillers are built using Farmet’s eXtra STEEL line steel that the brand claims has three times the tensile strength of standard steel. The extra strength gives producers a much longer machine life, less weight & lower fuel consumption, the company added.

Ease of maintenance is also another key selling point with the Diskomat range, according to Serafin Machinery, with most components requiring little to no maintenance.

Adjusting nodes are also placed ergonomically where farmers can easily access, so they don’t have to risk their safety to make any necessary adjustments such as working depth of the discs.

The Diskomat machines can be purchased with a range of options including single depth gauge wheels, a 70mm tongue style hitch and a choice of seven rollers including disc roller, double ring roller, V roller, tube roller and more.

Pricing for the Farmet Diskomat speed discs starts from $96,000 plus GST for the Diskomat 5PS which is the smallest folding trailed model. Serafin Machinery currently has stock of the 6PS, 6.5PS, 8PS and 8.5PS in Australia.

The company is also looking at bringing in 3.5N and 4.5N three point linkage models soon.
