Fendt debuts 673hp crawler tractor

Supersized tractors released in North America

Fendt has announced the addition of five new machinery line-ups to its North American stable of offerings.

Perhaps the most outstanding piece of equipment among the new releases is the mighty Fendt 1100 Vario MT (Mobile Trac) range, featuring outputs of up to 673hp and impressive crawler tracks.

The series offers four models – the 1151 Vario MT, 1156 Vario MT, 1162 Vario MT and 1167 Vario MT, with power ranging from 511hp to 673hp.

Under the bonnets are Tier-4 Final compliant MAN engines featuring the Fendt iD low speed engine concept that allows for greater low-end torque at lower engine RPMs, meaning farmers cover more ground using less fuel.

Its crawler tracks reduce compaction on the ground and offer a smooth ride across the paddock for operators. The unique spring mounted suspension system allows the tractor to traverse undulating terrain safely and easily.

If the tractors look somewhat familiar, it is because Fendt’s 1100 MT is identical to Challenger’s high horsepowered crawler tractors, with both brands owned by AGCO. Both Fendt’s MT tractors and Challenger’s tractor range are manufactured in Jackson, Minnesota in the US.

“For the first time, we’re offering a comprehensive line of Fendt tractors in North America to serve the needs of livestock and hay producers and those with large-acreage crop operations,” said AGCO North America general manager and senior vice president, Bob Crain.

“These exciting new Fendt offerings represent the next chapter for AGCO, our growing dealer network and, most importantly, our current and soon-to-be customers.”

In addition to the 1100 MT series, Fendt also launched the 900 MT series tractors, 700 Gen 6 series tractors, Fendt 300 Vario mid-range tractors and the Fendt IDEAL 10 series combines into the North American market.

The IDEAL combine series was released earlier last year in Australia but with a Massey Ferguson badge instead of Fendt.
