Fodder Festival 2021 coming soon

A not-to-be-missed event for hay and fodder producers

The second ever Fodder Festival, following its inaugural event in 2018, will be held on March 17, 2021 at the Elmore Events Centre in Elmore, Victoria.

The one-day event, organised by the Australian Fodder Industry Association (AFIA) and Elmore & District Machinery Field Days, will feature the latest in haymaking machinery including displays and demos; and provides a platform for hay producers to network and exchange information.

The theme of the day is “The Future of Big Square Baling” and will commence with machinery demonstrations in the morning.

“With irrigation and 45mm of recent summer rain, the crop is looking fantastic for the machinery demonstrations which are always popular,” said AFIA’s Chief Executive Officer, Paula Fitzgerald.

Dyna Dan sorghum has been planted and fertilised on the site thanks to Nutrien Ag Solutions.

Seven demonstrations will take place across 12 hectares showing off the latest machinery, which will be accompanied by commentary and an interactive audience Q&A.

Visitors can expect to see the newest machinery being demoed including square balers from CLAAS, Krone, KUHN, Massey Ferguson, Staheli West and New Holland; new hay rake from Berrima Engineering; and the latest application technologies courtesy of Vicchem.

The event will also feature trade displays, product launches and presentations and a panel discussion.

“After the year that has been, we are really looking forward to a great day out in the paddock, catching up with our members and all those who contribute to the fodder industry,” Fitzgerald said.

In-line with government COVID regulations, interested producers will need to register to attend the event, with early-bird registration fees starting from $20 for AFIA members and $30 for non-members. Breakfast and refreshments will be included in the fee, with lunch and morning tea available for purchase on the day.

The Fodder Festival 2021 will run from 7am to 4pm. For more info or to register, visit afia.org.au.
