Free speaker program on offer at FutureAg Expo

Full line-up of speakers on wide range of topics over three days for visitors of new ag trade show

Organisers of the upcoming FutureAg Expo, powered by AGRITECHNICA, has announced a free ‘Expert Stage’ for visitors to the show, giving them access to a dynamic field of agricultural innovators and specialists.

To run as part of FutureAg Expo’s free trade exhibition at Melbourne Royal Showground from April 17 to 19, the Expert Stage will feature three full days of sessions, with speakers covering a range of key topics, including ag-tech, robotics and AI, as well as sustainable farming practices, data and skilled workforces.

Hannover Fairs Commercial Director, Mike Nissen, said the addition of the new Expert Stage will give all visitors to the FutureAg Expo an opportunity to hear from industry experts, focussing on key products and farming developments on display as part of the exhibition.

“Our Expert Stage will feature some of Australia’s leading agricultural innovators and experts, as well University researchers, giving those who attend a unique and exclusive opportunity to hear from them first-hand and a taste of what the FutureAg two-day conference has to offer.”

“Technology is changing the way we farm in Australia and we are very excited to add this Expert Stage to the FutureAg Expo’s offering next month.”

With more than 125 exhibitors confirmed for next month’s event, the Expert Stage will feature case studies and insights on products and developments from the exhibition floor.

Speakers on the Expert Stage will include Associate Professor Chao Chen, leading Agricultural Robotics Researcher from Monash University; Jon Medway from Charles Sturt University who’ll present on the Future of Precision Ag and Automation; as well as Tim Neale, President of the Australian Agritech Association.

“Ag-tech entrepreneur and Water Founder, Nick Seymour will also feature on the Expert Stage to explore the barriers to adopting agtech,” Nissen said.

“We will also have a special visit from ABC TV’s Muster Dogs, where farmer Russ Fowler and ABC News Breakfast host Lisa Millar who will speak on sustainable farming practices.”

FutureAg is hosted by Hannover Fairs Australia in partnership with the DLG (German Agricultural Society), a non-profit society that runs agricultural exhibitions for knowledge-sharing, including Agritechnica, the world’s leading trade fair for agricultural machinery.

The expo will be held for the very first time in Australia in April, and will present numerous region-specific machinery and process solutions from agriculture, covering horticulture, livestock and aquaculture.  

“The conference is an opportunity to connect and collaborate with our industry’s leaders, innovators and professionals, addressing the challenges, opportunities and insights which will advance Australian agriculture now and in the future,” Nissen said.
