The Henty Machinery field days is set to return this year bigger than ever, with all sites booked out by exhibitors keen to showcase $120 million worth of goods and machinery at the event’s 105ha site.
The field days is reportedly the single largest agricultural and open-air event in southern Australia, and will run this year from September 19 to 21.
“The interest in the field days from exhibitors and visitors alike continues to grow year-on-year with the site being the biggest it’s ever been in terms of physical area,’’ says HMFD chief executive officer, Belinda Anderson.
“The HMFD team works hard to ensure Henty maintains its mantle of the friendliest field days, and our exhibitor and visitor experience continues to be enhanced.’’
A major drawcard for the field days every year is the agronomy demonstration plots, where visitors will have the chance to inspect the latest cereal crop varieties presented by Rutherglen company Baker Seed Co.
Those keen to inspect the latest advancements in agricultural technology should take note of the Henty Machine of the Year awards, which will be handed out to the most innovative piece of machinery displayed at the event, as judged by a panel of producers and machinery experts.
Some notable entrants of the awards include the Kuhn AXENT 100.1 spreader, Sonic Boomsprays’ 10,000-litre trailed sprayer, Bourgault’s 24m 3420 PHD Paralink drill, and the AeroDrone MR4 drone with onboard auto pilot.
The winner of the Henty Machine of the Year award will be announced at the field day’s official opening ceremony on September 19.
Other events and activities visitors can look forward to at the show include sheep and yard dog trials, the Natural Fibre Fashion Awards, chainsaw carving, vintage farm machinery, and more.
