FutureAg Expo 2024, powered by AGRITECHNICA 2024 and hosted by Hannover Fairs Australia, a subsidiary of the international expo organiser, is set to descend upon Melbourne Showgrounds over April 17 to 19, and will provide an important link between Australia’s agricultural industry and the tech innovators who are driving productivity and sustainability with their cutting-edge products and services.
This free-to-attend trade exhibition and conference will “showcase the future of the Australian agricultural industry”, says its organiser, and will allow the agribusiness sector to connect with industry pioneers to learn about their latest agtech innovations.
According to Mike Nissen, Commercial Director at Hannover Fairs, the event is the only trade exhibition and conference that explores the whole value chain.
“Australian agriculture is on the cusp of revolutionary innovation and FutureAg 2024’s purpose is to provide first-hand access to the products and services, equipment and Agriculture 4.0 technologies that are leading the way, and unpack the opportunities that they bring across the whole value chain to improve productivity and efficiency,” he said.
From autonomous vehicles to smart irrigation systems and more, the expo will give attendees a hands-on experience of the latest tech and machinery.
“We understand that farmers and primary producers are keen to know what they can do in their own enterprises now, which is why we’ve designed FutureAg Expo 2024 to provide informative advice that has practical application now and into the future,” said Mr Nissen.
The two-day conference will explore seven key pillars – sustainable agriculture, energy, innovative machinery, supply chains, biosecurity, agtech and smart farms, and the human connection – while keynote speakers include Olympia Yarger, founder of agritech start-up Goterra, and 2023 ACT Australian of the Year, David Lamb, Chief Scientist for the Food Agility Cooperative Research Centre.
Agribusiness researcher Mark Fletcher will provide practical insights on developing farmgate strategies, while DataFarming’s Tim Neale will share the transition to digital agronomy. Farmo Founder Nick Seymour will explore key insights around the barriers to adoption in agtech on the Expert Stage within the exhibition.
Meanwhile, the National Farmers’ Federation will also be on-hand, exploring sustainable practices, trade strategies, and the impact of climate change on agriculture, while also discussing key policy areas impacting the industry.
“The conference is an opportunity to connect and collaborate with our industry’s leaders, innovators and professionals, addressing the challenges, opportunities and insights that will advance Australian agriculture now and in the future,” said Mr Nissen.
