With less than two weeks to go, Queensland’s premier farming field days, FarmFest, is shaping up to be a massive event this year, with a record-breaking number of businesses signed up to exhibit at this year’s show.
In fact, organisers, ACM Rural Events, said 2023’s FarmFest will be the biggest show in its 48-year history, as it reveals plans to expand the field days site to over 26ha to accommodate the surge in interest.
With over 2000 businesses registered to participate, that represents a 23 per cent growth on last year, ACM Rural Events said.
ACM Rural Events general manager, Kate Nugent, said this year’s event will have a big focus on agtech and innovation and visitors will be thrilled at the range of products on display.
“The simple grid pattern of the purpose-built FarmFest site makes it one of the best in Australia for visitors, including special areas for live demonstrations,” she said.
“Additional activities are planned at Elders FarmFest including the Agri-Tech Alley, the Education Precinct, another new Lifestyle Shopping Arcade, the new Livestock Marketplace and the famed Livestock Competitions – and multiply agri-company anniversary celebrations.”

FarmFest will once again be offering free shuttle services to ferry visitors from the carpark to ticket booths as well as around the exhibition grounds.
Visitors are encouraged to purchase their tickets online to take advantage of a special online discount. The free parcel pickup service will also be available this year with an improved and more streamlined service, organisers said.
Other improvements for this year’s event include more disabled facilities and services, seating, more shade and more food choices.
Patron health and safety is also top of mind with sanitiser stations to be located across the site along with signage to encourage hand washing.
Sponsored by Elders, FarmFest is located on its own dedicated site in Kingsthorpe, 20km west of Toowoomba in the heart of the Darling Downs.
