Giant Patz feed mixer Oz-bound

US-made Patz 3600 vertical mixer scheduled to touch down in Australia in June 2017

Wisconsin-based agricultural machinery manufacturer, Patz Corporation, has announced the arrival of its largest vertical feed mixing wagon, the 3600 Series II Triple Screw vertical mixer, in Australia.

The machine is imported by DOM Distribution based in Dalby (QLD), and has a mixing capacity of up to 44.7 cubic metres.

Manufactured in the heart of dairy country in Wisconsin, USA, the Patz 3600 has been designed to handle a wide variety of total mixed ration (TMR) ingredients.

Three Patz Vortex screws in the machine facilitate fast and thorough mixing regardless of TMR ingredients and mix composition, the company says.

"Patented baffles quickly and gently direct all materials around both screws from end to end producing a thorough, consistent, quality mix, regardless of batch size," says Patz Australia sales manager, Jim Ryan.

"As many as seven Raptor knives operate in unison to dig in, hook and aggressively cut bales."

The Patz 3600 Series II Triple Screw vertical mixer also boasts overlapped sidewall seams to provide added tub strength, and a four-point scale system to accurately measure ingredients.

The machine features six super single truck tyres and self-steering axles that improve turning radius as well as minimise tyre wear, stresses on axles, hubs, spindles and suspension.

Its primary PTO driveline features an automatic cut-out clutch that eliminates the need to replace shear bolts, making machine maintenance a breeze.

Other features on the new Patz mixer wagon include a two-speed drive package with oil cooling system; and a Bull-Pull articulating implement hitch.

According to Ryan, the Patz 3600 Series II is one of the largest feed mixing wagons on the Australian market.

"The new Patz 3600 really is the premiere vertical mixer for large-scale feedlot and dairy operations – its superior speed and low maintenance design make this machine second-to-none," he says.

"Patz feed mixers are designed and manufactured in Wisconsin right in the heart of dairy country, so the construction of their feedlot machinery really takes into consideration modern TMR requirements."

Customers can choose to kit up their Patz 3600 with a wide selection of options, including steel or stainless steel tub liners, planetary cooling systems and tub mounted magnets.

An optional camera package enables viewing of the rear of the mixer from the tractor cab while backing up or discharging feed from an optional rear commodity door. A 718mm LCD monitor and a weatherproof, shock-resistant infrared camera for night vision are also included in the camera package.

Ryan adds the Patz range of mixers can be customised to suit any feedlot operation, regardless of size or feed requirements.

Pricing for the Patz 3600 Series II Triple Screw vertical mixer wagon starts from $280,000 for a standard model.
