Goldacres releases G4 Crop Cruiser Series 2

New and improved mid-weight sprayer offers a range of upgrades including an enhanced engine and driveline; new cabin and advanced spraying tech

Local sprayer manufacturer, Goldacres, has unveiled the latest iteration of its G4 Crop Cruiser self-propelled sprayer that the company says takes spraying productivity to new levels.

First unveiled in 2014, the G4 Crop Cruiser was designed to address the need for a lightweight and cost-effective sprayer in the market, particularly in the cotton industry, and has since evolved into a versatile midweight machine suitable for a diverse range of agricultural applications.

Today, the G4 Crop Cruiser Series 2 is still equipped with a 4000-litre tank and features the below upgrades.

Enhanced engine and driveline

Goldacres’ G4 Crop Cruiser Series 2 is equipped with a Cummins B series 4-cylinder engine rated at 200hp, a significant improvement from the previous 165hp.

Paired with a 6-speed automatic Allison transmission with revised final ratios, the G4 Crop Cruiser Series 2 offers improved drivability, Goldacres said.

“With a tare weight ranging from 10 to 11 tonnes, depending on configurations, the G4 stands out as one of the lightest mid-sized self-propelled sprayers in the market. Its mechanical driveline further enhances cost-effectiveness,” the company said.

Multiple wheel track options

The G4 Series 2 offers a range of wheel track options suitable for both broadacre and horticultural applications. These options include 2m and 3m fixed 2-wheel drive; two to 3m and three to 4m manual track adjustment and two to 3m hydraulic track adjustment; as well as 3m 4x4 configurations.

New cab and controls

The G4 Series 2 will feature a new CLAAS X10 cabin that has been borrowed from Goldacres’ G6 and G8 sprayer models. The cabin features a spacious interior, reduced noise levels, ergonomic controls, a larger training seat, storage facilities, climate control, electric mirrors, Bluetooth-enabled audio reception, and a UHF radio.

The new sprayer also incorporates Goldacres’ fully integrated G-Hub sprayer control system, comprising a 12-inch cabin display for critical machine operations and an external display for streamlined fill, clean, and induction functions.

The G-Hub also offers onboard diagnostics to help operators quickly identify and address issues.

A Fast Fill 3-inch induction system enhances filling capacities and is conveniently managed through the 4.3-inch G-Hub external display that automatically shuts off when the desired tank volume is reached.

With the G4 Series 2, there are multiple filling solutions available to help reduce downtime. These include integrated water and chemical transfer pumps, as well as fast fill 3-inch systems. The 60-litre chemical induction hopper streamlines the transfer of liquid and granular products into the main tank. An optional high-flow 3-inch fill pump with rates of up to 1150l/min is also available. The integration of a chemical venturi probe further enhances precision in chemical transfer.

Sturdier boom

The G4 Series 2 comes with the TriTech boom that is available in widths ranging from 24 to 36m. The boom offers hydraulic yaw control that minimises over and under-application of chemicals.

Center section suspension links and tuned damping characteristics isolate chassis movement over rough terrain and ensure precise roll control, maintaining an optimal and consistent nozzle height.

The Raven AutoBoom XRT radar boom height controller is also available as an option, featuring five sensors for accurate height measurement and is resistant to spray drift, dust, and mud.

Advanced chemical application systems

The G4 Crop Cruiser Series 2 is available with various chemical application systems, including RapidFlow for boom recirculation, the 250mm 3TS (three-tier nozzle system) and RapidFire.

These systems are standard in 10 sections, with the option to expand to 16 sections with 3TS Pro and Hawkeye PWM (pulse width modulation) capabilities.

Production of the G4 Crop Cruiser Series 2 is set to commence in the first half of 2024, accompanied by nationwide roadshow events.
