Grillo Series 10 climber mowers arrive in Oz

New ride-on mowers feature four-wheel drive and are purpose built for use on steep slopes

European garden management equipment specialist Grillo has launched its Series 10 mowers with all-wheel-drive in Australasia through distributor Agrigarden.

The Series 10 builds on the previous Series 7 and 9 ranges which Agrigarden says have made a name for themselves offering effective and safe mowing on tricky terrains.

Two models are offered in the Series 10 - the Grillo Climber 10.22 AWD and Grillo Climber 10.27 AWD, with 22hp and 27hp engine power respectively.

According to Grillo, the Series 10 machines' key features are the low centre of gravity and smaller turn radius to allow for mowing operations in difficult terrain where operator safety is an issue.

They also feature higher ground clearance, oscillating front axles, differential locks and wider decks.

New on the Series 10 is a Grammer suspension seat that comes standard on the Grillo Climber 10.27 AWD. The seat is adjustable to suit the operator's weight and offers a comfortable ride for those who may need to spend long hours on the mowers.

Foldable roll-over bars provide added protection for the operator, while twin LED headlights give ample illumination for after dark operations.

The Grillo Climber 10.22 is powered by an Intek 7220 Professional series engine with a hydrostatic four-wheel drive transmission, and features a cutting deck of 93cm.

The mowing deck has an electromagnetic clutch with blade brake, and uses long life quick change reversible blades with a stepless cutting height adjustment.

It also features a 13-litre capacity fuel tank, as well as rear wheel parking brakes and a differential lock that add to the stability of the machine.

The range-topping Grillo 10.27 uses an Intek 8270 Commercial series engine with a cyclonic air filter that makes this model ideal for work in dusty environments.

It also comes with a slightly wider mower deck of 98cm.

The two Series 10 models share the same transmission, safety, comfort and manoeuvrability features.
