Hansa's linkage and trailing spreaders made in Ballarat

Established in 2016, Hansa is part of the Southern Spreaders family building trailing and linkage spreaders in Victoria

While a fairly new company of around seven years, Hansa in fact has one of the most experienced team behind it designing and building spreaders of all sizes to cater to all facets of the farming community.

Parent company, Southern Spreaders, was established 30 years ago and cut its teeth manufacturing trailer-based and large spreaders catering to contractors and larger farming operations. It later created Hansa to answer the needs of small to medium sized operations.

Hansa's product offerings range from a 1500-litre linkage spreader right through to a tandem axle spreader with a 23,000-litre capacity.

The company had its range on display at the Wimmera Machinery Field Days earlier this year.

According to Hansa's Jarrod Keyte, all the R&D, design, testing and manufacturing of the products are done locally.

"If anything goes wrong, the knowledge is here and we can sort it out straight away," he said.

"We've got parts in Australia because we build them in Australia, so everything's on the shelf here.

"The fertiliser we get in Australia varies quite a lot so we're testing with Australian quality fertilisers so we know what's happening."
