Farmers would be familiar with hay balers that are towed behind tractors through the field - picking hay up as they go, compacting them into bales and spitting them out on the other side.
Much less common but arguably more versatile are still balers or compactors, such as this one manufactured by Norwegian company, Orkel.
Orkel specialises in ag implements, more specifically compactors, and its MP2000-X, as displayed recently at the Henty Machinery Field Days, is one of its range topping models.
The brand is distributed in the country by Megamac Equipment.
According to Megamac's Steve Deppeler, farmers can bale almost anything they desire with the MP2000-X- from maize to hay to chopped grass and even manure.
There is even a wrapping station that wraps the bale in film after baling to preserve the material.
