A new range of portable generators powered by JCB engines are currently headed for Australian shores.
The nine model QS series offers power ranging from 20kVA to 220kVA, and has been tried and proven in 200,000 machines around the world, according to JCB CEA National Product Manager for JCB Power Products, Dave Moselen.
"Each model has three-stage fuel filters and an optional self-cleaning air filter to protect the engine from premature wear," he says.
"The whole range has been tested and operated to withstand temperatures over 50 degrees Celsius so they can provide non-stop power and performance no matter where they are installed."
All QS models are fitted with a steel canopy with a single piece roof that is protected by a phosphate dip and a seven stage paint process for strength and durability.
"The noise levels in the QS series generators are as low as 62dBA, so they’re ideal for a range of applications," Moselen says.
Large heavy duty doors offer easy access for regular servicing, which come with removable hinges that allow operators to lift the doors off for easier maintenance access.
All models 65kVA and above come with JCB's LiveLink system, which offers real-time information on maintenance, run hours, and security straight to a computer, tablet or mobile device. LiveLink allows operators to monitor and manage the power generators to maximise productivity, decrease running costs and increase efficiency.
"We understand that our mobile generators are frequently used in remote locations or other harsh environments," Moselen says.
"JCB LiveLink allows users to check their generator in real-time or easily switch between power usage levels when there are changing conditions."
He adds the QS generators are equipped with Mecc Alte alternators which he says are among the most efficient in the current market.
The QS series generators come standard with a Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) 4510 control panel with a large screen and multilingual settings. An optional DSE 4520 control panel is available, which includes a transfer switch for smooth change-over between mains and generator power in the events of main failure.
