John Deere has announced a series of improvements on its 9 and 8-series tractors that apply to all wheel, half-track and four-track configurations.
The model year 2022 9-Series line-up comprises of the wheeled 9R, two-track 9RT and four-track 9RX.
An all-new John Deere PowerTech 13.6-litre diesel engine offers 390 to 590 horsepower and provides low-end torque and lugging ability, Deere said.
The larger 9R 640 and 9RX 640 are powered by a Cummins 15-litre engine.
To accommodate the added horsepower and ballast of the articulated 9-series tractors, several undercarriage, axle, and front-frame components have been strengthened and improved. This has increased the weight of the tractor and the maximum available ballast from 27,200 to 30,300 kg.
The new 9-series tractors come equipped from the factory with JDLink connectivity, an integrated StarFire GPS receiver, Generation 4 Command Center display, AutoTrac guidance and free access to the John Deere Operations Center.
The updated 8 Series includes the wheel 8R, two-track 8RT and four-track 8RX; and will come with a range of specialised options as part of its new offerings.
John Deere’s 8 series offers a number of models ranging from 230 to 410 horsepower and with multiple transmission options to meet the unique needs of diverse farming enterprises.
A new option available to customers is the Central Tyre Inflation System (CTIS) that helps operators save time when adjusting tyre pressure for different operations. The system changes tyre pressure accordingly when “road” or “field” settings are engaged on 8R tractors equipped with Independent-Link Suspension (ILSTM).
For road transport, increased pressure gives greater fuel efficiency, reduced tyre wear and improved ride and handling. On the other hand, lower pressure and a larger footprint in the field provides more lug engagement to reduce slip and ground pressure.
The new integrated 3750-litre capacity ExactRate Tractor Tanks on the 8RX Tractors provide additional liquid capacity for tasks such as liquid fertiliser application while seeding and planting, enabling more time in the field and greater productivity by reducing the number of fills required.
All 8-series tractors come standard with JDLink connectivity, an integrated StarFire GPS receiver, Generation 4 CommandCenter display, AutoTrac guidance, and free access to John Deere Operations Center.
The 9-series tractors can be ordered from late March this year while the 8-series will be available to order by mid 2021.
