While Deere's trailing sprayers have been available in Europe and overseas for a number of years now, they have not been made available to Australian customers, until now.
Understanding that farmers need more versatility and value for money, John Deere launched its M900i trailing sprayer range in Australia that it said is cheaper than self-propelled sprayers to own and run, but works exactly the same as its self-propelled counterparts.
The M944i sprayer with a 4400-litre tank was on display at the 2019 Henty Machinery Field Days held earlier this year. It was an entrant into the Machine of the Year award and is available in a variety of boom widths ranging from 24m to 40m.
"They all have boom re-circulation so it can prime the spray lines and flush out that boom," said John Deere crop care specialist, Anton Kowalenko.
"That is a feature that a lot of customers are after these days."
"They're also fully plug and play. So when you buy one of these sprayers, you simply go up to a current John Deere tractor, plug it into the ISOBUS connector in the back, the SprayStar rate controller will come up on your screen and away you go."
