John Deere says the latest additions to its crop protection range offer more power to the ground while using less fuel; as well as a good range of standard precision ag tech to help producers spray more accurately and efficiently.
The new models - 408R, 410R and 412R in the 400 range; and 612R and 616R in the 600 range can be ordered now from John Deere dealerships nationwide.
Tank sizes range from 3000 up to 6000 litres depending on the model. A new boom recirculation feature ensures product is kept in suspension, so the boom is always primed and ready to spray.
A defining feature of the new models is the CommandDrive powertrain that drives more power to the ground when needed, such as on hills, while using less fuel, John Deere said. While the powertrain reduces engine revs where appropriate, spray accuracy, speed and pattern are not compromised, Deere added. Less engine revs also mean a quieter work environment for operators.
Selected models of the 400 Series can reach field speeds of up to 40km/h and transport speeds of up to 48km/h; while 600 Series machines can achieve field speeds of up to 40km/h and transport speeds of up to 56km/h.
The 412R features a 4500L tank and is powered by a 326hp PowerTech™ 9.0L engine. The 410R is equipped with a 3750L tank and 310hp PowerTech 9.0L engine, while the 408R comes with a 3000L tank and 280hp PowerTech 6.8L engine.
The 616R is the largest of the 600 Series and boasts a 6000L tank and a 375hp PowerTech engine, while the 612R features a 4500L tank and 355hp PowerTech 9.0L engine.
The new models come standard with John Deere AutoTrac™ guidance that keeps the sprayer in the row for precise product placement. The John Deere ExactApply™ technology is also available that allows operators to more accurately control droplet size, spray pressure and individual nozzles.
The optional BoomTrac™ Pro 2 maintains the boom's position regardless of terrain, to maintain spraying accuracy.
All 400 and 600 Series Sprayers come standard with a JDLink™ connection, integrated StarFire™ GPS receiver, Generation 4 CommandCenter™ display and free access to the John Deere Operations Center to allow customers to easily view and monitor equipment performance, and to inform agronomic decisions.
