John Deere streamlines See and Spray technology

A ‘more is less’ philosophy for 2027, as well as additional in-crop functionality for farmers

John Deere’s released details of its 2027 spray application range, which includes the introduction of a streamlined all-in-one See & Spray technology.

The See & Spray Gen 2 solution, available on 2027 model 400 and 600 Series sprayers, helps manage rising input costs, tighter application windows and increasing weed pressure with greater confidence and flexibility.

See & Spray targes wheat, barley, canola, cotton, corn and soybeans.

“The updates that now include green on green capabilities, directly address those challenges and will help farmers apply only exactly what’s needed, where it’s needed, across more hectares and more crops,” John Deere Production and Precision Ag Marketing Manager, Royce Bell, said.

“In the modern farming environment, it is critical farmers have the ability to do more with less and having the additional in-crop functionality on the MY27 sprayers allows growers to leverage the technology across the whole season.”

The 2027 sprayer updates also include four-wheel steering on selected models, a new centre-frame camera, higher operating speeds and options such as full boom lighting and individual nozzle control systems.

Customers will also benefit from the new variable rate capability (previously only available on See & Spray Select), which provides farmers with a prescription-like application without the need to build prescriptions.

Using real-time living biomass detection from See & Spray cameras, the system automatically adjusts application rates at the nozzle level during fungicide, harvest aid/desiccation and plant growth regulator passes.

The expanded See & Spray capabilities are available on the 408R, 410R, 412R, 612R, and 616R sprayers.

Meanwhile, updates across the wider John Deere range include direct chemical injection, John Deere Operations Center integration, estimated time-to-empty and sprayer alerts, a smart view camera system and vision-ready capability for Haige machines in challenging crop conditions.
