John Deere unveils new 5EN specialty tractor

The new narrow tractor headlined John Deere’s horticulture machinery and precision ag showcase at Hort Connections 2026.

John Deere has unveiled its new 5105EN specialty narrow tractor, using Hort Connections 2026 to showcase a broader line-up of horticulture machinery and precision ag technology.

Designed for vineyards and orchards, the 5105EN joins John Deere’s specialty range alongside the 5ML orchard and vineyard tractor, with the company pitching it as a machine built for high-value crops grown in tighter rows.

The new model brings a 105hp option to the segment and introduces more precision capability, including AutoTrac guidance.

“This year we’re excited to display the new 5105EN specialty tractor, which has been purpose-built for narrow vineyards and orchards, complementing the release of the 5ML,” said John Deere Australia and New Zealand marketing manager for small ag and turf, Erin Wagstaff.

“The 5EN has more power than before with a 105-horsepower option, and advanced precision to bring systems like AutoTrac to this sector.”

Along with the power increase, John Deere says the tractor has received a range of cab and operator-focused upgrades, including a digital dash display, revised right-hand console and throttle placement, USB-C ports, an Electro-Hydraulic hitch and an integrated armrest.

Lighting has also been upgraded, with LED work lights, headlights and rear hitch lights now fitted as standard.

Wagstaff said the changes were aimed at improving comfort for operators spending long days in the cab during peak periods.

John Deere’s display at Hort Connections also featured the 5ML orchard and vineyard tractor, Smart Apply precision spraying technology and a precision ag demonstration bench with the G5 Display, StarFire receiver and modem connected to the John Deere Operations Center. A 6MH 155 high crop tractor was also shown at the event.

John Deere also backed a new Ag Tech & Mechanisation Award at the Horticulture Awards for Excellence, recognising technology and mechanisation projects aimed at improving horticultural productivity and sustainability.
