K-Tec levels up in Oz

Canadian high performance land levellers ideal for ag and construction use

A new generation of land levellers by Canadian earthmoving equipment manufacturer K-Tec has arrived on Aussie shores.

The K-Tec Flex Land Leveller range is available in three widths - 4.95m, 6.17m and 8.6m.

Assembled and distributed by DOM Distribution in Dalby (QLD), the range has been designed for precision land levelling, paddock drainage and maintaining long haul roads.

According to DOM director, Pat O'Brien, K-Tec Flex levellers can increase field production yield by as much as 20 per cent.

"A lot of effort has gone into the design of this product to achieve a considerable cutting depth whilst loosening the soil to break up hard or wet clods in only one pass," he says.

"The unique mouldboard curve of the bucket and dual walking beam axle on the rear keeps the bucket extremely stable, which in turn allows for increased ground speed in all types of challenging terrain: topsoil, clay, sand, gypsum rock and even in gravel."

He adds the area of coverage the K-Tec Flex series is able to provide has led to a significant amount of uptake not only from the agricultural industries, but also from the commercial and civil construction industry.

"Bucket dimension for the K-Tec Flex is substantial, ranging between 12 and 17 cubic metres; this increased dragging capacity allows for greater coverage in less cycles per day," O'Brien says.

The range is suitable for front-wheel assist and WD tractors, and is GPS compatible to ensure precision, one-pass levelling.

"The single simplistic tilt, depth level gauge and 90-degree turning angle ensure maximum coverage and accuracy every time and allows even an unskilled operator to achieve a professional finish," O’Brien says.

He adds the levellers are very low maintenance, and only require greasing on the draw bar and rear walking beam.

"All models have a foldable drawbar for easy transport and the 2822 Flex XL model features drop down transport wheels which allows for easy towing between paddocks, farms or job sites.

"We’re hearing some extraordinary reviews from the first Australian farmers and contractors to acquire these levelling machines."

O'Brien adds nine of the first 10 units imported from Canada have been snapped up very quickly because farmers and earthmoving operators are "sitting up and paying attention to what these machines can achieve."
