KIOTI enters mini excavator market with new MX Series

The new three-model range gives KIOTI a fresh foothold in the compact earthmoving equipment space

KIOTI has entered the mini excavator market with the launch of its new MX Series, marking the latest expansion of its compact equipment portfolio beyond tractors, loaders and utility vehicles.

The new range comprises three models: the 3.5-tonne MX350, the MX350 Extended Arm and the larger 5.7-tonne MX570, designed for applications ranging from agriculture and landscaping through to construction and civil works.

For now, the MX Series has been launched in the North American market, with KIOTI yet to announce whether or when the new excavators will be offered in Australia.

According to KIOTI, all three models come factory-equipped with an angle blade, hydraulic thumb, auxiliary hydraulics and a mechanical quick coupler as standard, allowing operators to put the machines to work without the need for common aftermarket upgrades.

"The MX Series provides what today's operators are asking for – equipment that is immediately ready for use," said Joel Hicks, KIOTI product line manager.

"By standardising the features operators use every day, we're delivering greater value, productivity and a lower total cost of ownership across a variety of applications."

The MX350 features a zero-tail swing design for working in confined spaces, while the MX350 Extended Arm and MX570 adopt a reduced-tail swing layout that balances manoeuvrability with stability.

KIOTI says the excavators also feature multi-function hydraulics for smoother simultaneous machine movements, along with reinforced structures, protected hydraulic components and load-holding valves to improve durability and safety on the job.

The MX Series represents KIOTI's latest move into the compact equipment sector, following the introduction of its skid steer and compact track loader range, as the company continues to broaden its offering beyond its traditional tractor lineup.
