Kubota M5 series breaks cover

All-rounder tractor range can go from farm gate to orchard to large properties with ease, Kubota said

Kubota Tractor Australia has announced the arrival of the highly-anticipated M5 series mid-range tractors to a group of 180 Kubota dealers at a conference in Hobart last week.

The range offers four models – the M5111 Standard (110hp), M5091 Standard (93hp), M5091 Narrow (93hp) and M5101 Narrow (105hp).

Some new and improved features on the M5 series include an extra wide cabin in the Standard models and a newly designed console across the range.

The M5 Standard tractor’s flat floor is now 160mm wider compared to previous models, and the cabins are equipped with glare-reducing curved glass and a visibility improving sloping bonnet.

The cabin also comes with more storage and a new layout that puts all controls within reach.

“The M5 is the slightly more sophisticated, upmarket tractor our product line-up has been missing,” said Kubota Australia Senior Product Manager for Tractors and Precision Farming, Konstantin Blersch.

“The beauty of the M5 Series is its unique ability to transition from farm gate to orchard to large properties with ease. The narrow design of the M5091 and M5101 means it can operate in tight spaces and provide smooth power at all times,” he said.

“On the other hand, the Standard M5111 and M5091 is perfect for a variety of farming operations with versatile hydraulics and a tough Category II three-point hitch that lifts 3200 kg at the rear.”

The M5 series tractors are powered by Kubota’s V3800, 4-cylinder diesel engine that complies with European Tier 4 engine emissions standards.

All models come with three gear ranges – high, low and creep. Hydraulic capacity is up to 68.6l/min.

All M5 tractor models feature a sunroof which gives operators full visibility of the loader or pallet fork.

Bigger fuel tanks of up to 105 litres allow for longer working hours.

Sunrise Ag Mildura General Manager and Kubota dealer, Steve Ayling, said he was impressed by the M5’s new package and will be placing orders for 2019.

“I’ve waited for a tractor like this for a while and it has finally arrived,” he said.

“The narrow M5 is the compact tractor our customers with orchards and vineyards need on their properties.

“Until now, mid-sized Kubota tractors stopped at 85hp. The M5 has more than 100hp, making it a powerful machine with a small body, giving it the agility to move swiftly between the vines without damaging the fruit.”

Pricing for the M5 range starts from $80,750 excluding GST for the M5091 Standard with wheel equipment, 360/70R24 and 480/70R34 Trelleborg Tyres and 110kg rear wheel ballast.
