Local off-road vehicle distributor, Mojo Motorcycles, has announced the addition of two new models to Kymco’s ATV range Down Under – an extensively updated MXU 700i LE EPS, as well as a brand-new middleweight model - the MXU 550i EPS.
The four-valve 550 sits between the 700 and the 400, and comes with a more modern and high-end design, Mojo said.
With a power output of 25kW (34hp) and 39Nm, pumped out by a fuel-injected 501cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, the 550 has been designed to tow easier and handle rough terrains better, allowing it to fit right into an agricultural landscape.

The range-topping MXU 700i LE EPS, on the other hand, received significant upgrades to better handle Australia’s harsh conditions.
Some new features and upgrades on the 700 include a linked braking system, anti-theft steering lock, more ground clearance, increased towing capacity, extra fuel capacity, relocated fuel cell for better weight distribution and more suspension travel.
A 659cc liquid-cooled four-stroke engine provides the 700 with 33kW (44hp) of power and 55Nm of torque.

It comes with larger 14-inch alloy wheels compared to 12-inch steel ones on the 550, and is equipped with a winch whereas the 500 isn't.
The 700 model has a towing capacity of 467kg whereas the 550’s is 427kg.
However, both new models have a front protector bar installed as standard for better protection in livestock handling applications, for example.

Both models also come with indicators which is useful for buyers requiring primary producer registration.
Other common features across both models include CVT transmission, four-wheel independent suspension; on-demand 2WD/4WD with differential lock and shaft drive; dual high/low beam headlights and brake lights; front and rear steel tube cargo racks; two-inch receiver for mounting a standard trailer hitch and under seat storage.
Mojo Motorcycles said both models meet the stage one requirements of the Australian Consumer Goods (Quad Bikes) Safety Standard that came into effect from October 2020, which dictates that ATVs for sale in Australia need to have a rollover-warning label fixed, meet US and European performance and safety standards, and meet minimum stability requirements.

From October this year, the roll bar rule will come into effect which means all ATVs on the market from then will need to come equipped with a roll-over protection structure as standard.
Pricing for the new models are $11,490 for the MXU 550i and $13,990 for the MXU 700i.
