Limited Isuzu off-road model lands

Isuzu Trucks has announced the latest addition to its popular Ready-to-Work off-road range – the limited edition NLS 45-150 All-Wheel Drive Traypack.

Limited numbers of this no-nonsense model are currently available through the Isuzu dealer network at the extremely competitive price of $52,490 as part of a new Ready-to-Work AWD and 4X4 sales campaign for the month of September.

Isuzu says its broader 4x4 and AWD range delivers both application suitability and engineering smarts, especially when it comes to off-road conditions and low-traction surfaces.

The addition of the NLS 45-150 AWD Traypack delivers another factory-backed, rugged, pre-bodied Ready-to-Work solution to the off-road line-up.

This variant will appeal to a many applications with its all-important payload boost, a robust factory-backed body as well as its all-wheel drive capability.

The NLS can be driven on a standard passenger car licence with a 4500kg GVM and a GCM of 8000kg giving it a 4000kg towing capacity.

For its all-wheel drive, the NLS 45-150 AWD Traypack makes use of a single-speed transfer case incorporating a viscous coupling drive to the front wheels. This secure on-demand, part-time all-wheel drive functionality means the driver can switch between both two and all-wheel operation via a convenient dashboard-mounted switch (after manually locking the front hubs).

Suspension is through Isuzu’s Independent Front Suspension (IFS) bringing a high level of driver comfort and a predictable ride both on and off the sealed sections.

Powering the NLS is the Isuzu 4JJ1-TCS, four-cylinder, 16-valve engine, outputting 110kW at 2800rpm and max torque of 375Nm (277 lb.ft) from 1600 to 2800rpm. This drives through Isuzu’s five-speed synchromesh manual transmission.

Safety features include ABS and ASR traction control, Hill Start Aid, driver and passenger airbag and ECE-R29 cab strength compliance, while driver and passenger comfort is aided by integrated air conditioning, a contoured adjustable driver's seat, central locking, electric windows and mirrors and an updated multimedia system.

The factory-backed, heavy duty aluminium tray body comes with integrated load restraint anchor points, headboard including rear window protector, removable drop sides and rear tailgate as well as an Isuzu reversing camera.

According to National Sales Manager, Les Spaltman, the limited nature of this model makes it all the more attractive.

“Those in the market for a highly capable, go-anywhere work vehicle simply must take a closer look at this limited-edition model,” he said.

“We’re running this sales program for a set time and there’s limited units available, so we’re urging those in the market for a tough, rugged, genuine work truck to get along to your local dealership and take a drive,” he concluded.
