Mahindra updates eMax workhorse

New eMax25s features several changes for 2017, including a new metal bonnet and several cosmetic updates

Mahindra has announced the launch of its new eMax25s sub compact tractor which will come with a seven-year powertrain warranty.

The new model is an upgrade of the eMax25 that has been in Mahindra's stable for a number of years.

The eMax25s features a cast steel body and an all metal bonnet instead of plastic and aluminium components, resulting in a sturdy workhorse with an affordable price tag, Mahindra says.

"We encourage customers to take the Mahindra Flex-test," says Mahindra Ag National Sales Manager, Satish Chandra.

"Go and check out a competitive product in that segment, push on the ROPS and you'll see the tractor lift the back wheel off the ground. Imagine what that is doing to the drivetrain of the competitor product.

"You won't do that with our product, and the reason for that is the eMax25s is made from cast steel, instead of aluminium; and features an all metal bonnet, not a plastic one."

In addition to a new metal bonnet, the upgraded eMax25s also features several cosmetic changes to the seat, changes to the cup holder placement, as well as mower deck height control. Operators can now easily adjust the mower deck height from the seat.

"That strength is something you'll always find in a Mahindra tractor,” says Mahindra Ag & Auto National Marketing Manager, James Halliwell.

"We’re always heavier than the competition in each horsepower segment, and that enables us to push more, pull more and lift more.  This gives us the completive edge in the market where our competitors are taking the traditional strength of a tractor - steel, out of the product.

"We stand behind our products and that is why we have introduced a seven-year powertrain warranty standard on all eMax25s units sold from January 15, 2017."

The eMax25s is powered by a 25hp Tier-4 engine with no diesel particulate filter (DPF) to keep costs low. The tractor weighs 730kg, which in combination with its wide track and longer footprint, offers operational stability on tricky terrain.

It can be purchased with a series of attachments including a loader, mid mount mower, backhoe, slashers, or post hole digger; or a combination of attachments depending on the operator's requirements.

It features a loader lift capacity of 250kg, and a linkage lift capacity of 600kg.

"Another defining difference with our eMax25s tractor, is that at any point in time you can come back looking for a backhoe, and still fit it, or take it off any time you need to use your three point linkage - which I might add is also a standard feature of our tractor," Halliwell says.

"Some brands don’t give you that freedom."

The new eMax25s is available for purchase in the following configurations:

  • eMax25s tractor only
  • eMax25s tractor with mid-mount mower
  • eMax25s tractor with loader
  • eMax25s tractor with loader & mid-mount mower
  • eMax25s tractor loader and backhoe

Pricing for the eMax25s starts from $15,990 including GST.
