Massey 9300 series RazorBar headers revealed

New disc header features a brand new design for a cleaner cut and better windrow formation

Massey Ferguson has announced the launch of the 9300 series RazorBar rotary disc headers for its WR9900 self-propelled windrowers, designed to optimise crop throughput and quality.

The 9300 header range replaces the 9200 series and includes the 4.9m MF9316D model as well as the 4m MF9313D.

Both models feature durable, low-profile RazorBar rotary disc cutter bars which Massey Ferguson claims are the strongest and most durable in the industry; and the exclusive TwinMax double conditioning system.

The conditioning system features two steel-on-steel conditioner rolls that crimp the stems every one to two inches, reducing drying time while allowing leaves to stay healthy and whole, retaining their vital nutrients.

A key feature on the MF9300 series is the new belt-drive augers at the ends of the headers that move the crop quickly to the conditioners, minimising the chance of double cuts, crop wrapping and build-up.

“Moving the crop quickly from the outside discs to the conditioner means a cleaner cut, less chance for double cutting, better windrow formation and less opportunity for leaf damage,” Massey Ferguson said.

The belt system uses self-adjusting spring tensioners so operators can more easily set and maintain optimum belt tension.

The drive belts can be easily accessed through a new side panel for quick and easy servicing.

The MF9300 headers also inherited the 9200 series' tried and tested features such as large, tandem hydraulic drive pumps for increased throughput and functionality; in-cab adjustable hydraulic roll tension for more consistent crimp and auto knife speed.

“These new disc headers will help producers optimise the quality of their hay at harvest,” Massey Ferguson said.

“The higher the quality, the better the feed value and efficiency for livestock producers and the higher the price at market.”
