Massey Ferguson launches new MF 5M tractors

Mid-range lineup offers smart tech, loader-ready design and up to 145hp

Massey Ferguson has unveiled its new MF 5M Series in Australia and New Zealand, a mid-range tractor lineup offering six models from 95 to 145 horsepower and a choice of 12x12 or Dyna-4 transmissions.

The new series builds on the existing MF 5700 and 6700 models and is available in both cab and platform configurations, offering a total of 14 variants. It targets mixed farming, loader work and specialised operations such as vegetable production.

All models are powered by a 4.4-litre AGCO Power four-cylinder engine, with torque outputs ranging from 405Nm to 560Nm at 2000rpm. Lift capacities are 4300kg on lower-horsepower models and 5200kg on the 125hp and above variants.

A larger 198-litre fuel tank that is 24 per cent bigger than its predecessor is now standard across the range.

The Dyna-4 variants offer clutchless shifting across 16 forward and 16 reverse speeds with a 40km/h Eco top speed. Brake-to-Neutral is standard on all models, automatically disengaging drive when the brake pedal is pressed, an advantage in repetitive loader work.

An optional AutoDrive function offers automatic shifting in Power or Eco modes while hydraulic performance has been upgraded to a 100l/min open-centre system.

Loader functionality is a focus, with a tight 4.65m turning radius, optional Visio Roof for improved visibility and a choice of mechanical or electronic joysticks.

Smart farming

All MF 5M tractors can be specified with the full MF Guide which includes the Fieldstar 5 terminal or as MF Guide ready.

MF Guide provides fully automatic steering and is offered with Trimble or other brand receivers.

Fieldstar 5 provides access to several Massey Ferguson Smart Farming options, including ISOBUS and other efficiency enhancing features such as MF Section Control, MF Rate Control and MF Connect telemetry.

New cab and design

MF 5M cab versions feature a 1.3m wide operator cab, flat floor, car style pedals, large glass area for improved visibility and an upgraded, optional air-conditioning system for enhanced air flow.

A new mechanical cab suspension system, optional on Dyna-4 models, delivers higher shock absorption for a more comfortable ride.

New LED worklights – either front and rear or mid-mounted – complement the halogen lights for better illumination in low light conditions.

A rear PTO switch has been added on the fender for external control.

MF 5M tractors now sport Massey Ferguson’s latest family style design featuring a diamond grey cab finish, sabre bonnet lines and new logo design on the side of the bonnet, complete with a black ribbed grille.

The MF 5M Series is backed by Massey Ferguson’s MF Care extended warranty and the MF Always Running courtesy fleet.
