Massey Ferguson says its new MF 7S Series of tractors bridges the gap to its MF 8S Series models, with six new MF 7S tractors now available in Australia and New Zealand.
Potent power
The MF 7S Series adopts the AGCO brand’s new model nomenclature, clearly reflecting each product’s power rating. As such, the new line-up spans the MF 7S.145 (145hp), MF 7S.155 (155hp), MF 7S.165 (165hp), MF 7S.180 (180hp), MF 7S.190 (190hp), and MF 7S.210 (210hp). Maximum torque at 1500rpm ranges from 660Nm to 860Nm, but with Engine Power Management both torque and horsepower can be boosted significantly.
All the new models are powered by Massey Ferguson’s 6.6-litre six-cylinder AGCO Power engine with Tier 2 emissions compliance, and ride on the brand’s 2.88-metre wheelbase.
Two levels of cab trim are available, Essential or Efficient, while on the transmission front customers can choose between the new and improved Dyna-VT Super ECO available on all models, or the Dyna-6 Super Eco with Automatic mode on tractors up to 180hp.
The Dyna-VT Super ECO allows operators to achieve 40km/h at a low 1450rpm, while its new auto mode means operators can alter forward speed with either the Multipad lever or foot pedal, the tractor also setting optimal revs for the load and speed.
All models feature a handy ‘brake to neutral’ function, while Massey Ferguson says those working in specialist crops will appreciate the Super Creeper option, which delivers precise control down to speeds of 70m/hr at 1400rpm.
Refined and improved cab
Inside the Massey Ferguson MF 7S cab, operators will notice many upgrades that were previously introduced on the new MF 8S Series. These include the new armrest and Multipad controller, along with the enhanced levels of connectivity.
Then there’s the new air-conditioning, said to cool down to four degrees lower than previously, a new chrome steering wheel and black dash on Efficient variants, a comfier standard air suspension seat, and a heated seat option with improved ventilation, along with the benefits of the brand’s Dynamic Damping System.
Outside there’s provision to fit up to 16 LED worklights and, for loader operations, a ‘Visio Roof’ that provides a clear view of the load through the tractor’s whole lift range. Customer can also choose between optional mechanical or active mechanical cab suspension, along with an optional suspended front axle.
Precision control
In Efficient models, controlling an MF 7S tractor is simple thanks to the new Multipad lever and control armrest. This ISOBUS-compatible controller places everything conveniently to hand, including a linkage control rocker switch, cruise settings, driving mode pre-sets and MF Guide activation, while it also houses a micro joystick to operator two electric spool valves.
A multifunction lever option, meanwhile, allows the operator to control a loader and front linkage, while also allowing the operator to control the spool valves or change the tractor’s speed or direction.
The Datatronic 5 terminal is now brighter and clearer, with reduced glare and higher-definition colours on a black background, along with new homepage shortcuts for easier menu navigation.
A new MF E-Loader option affords control of the new Bucket Shake feature as well as weigh individual fork or bucket loads, which can then be transferred to a spreadsheet.
And on Efficient models, a new option allows the radio, mobile phone and media functions to be operated through the Datatronic 5 screen, with input via Bluetooth, USB or auxiliary cable.
The Datatronic 5 interface also integrates with GPS to run the MF Technologies’ Precision Farming Suite, spanning features such as MF Guide, MF Section Control, and MF Rate Control. Data gathered via MF TaskDoc can be transferred via USB memory card or wirelessly via the optional MF TaskDoc Pro.
MF Telemetry comes standard on all Massey Ferguson MF 7S Series tractors.
Room to manoeuvre
The 2.88-metre wheelbase helps deliver a turning radius of just 4.93 metres across the Massey Ferguson MF 7S Series range, which also boasts a 44.5t gross combination weight and up to a 14t gross vehicle weight. The MF 7S has three-point linkage lift capacities of 9600kg at the rear and 4000kg up front.
Up to 42-inch-diameter rear tyres can be specified to reduce ground pressure, with a wide range of ballasting options available for heavy-duty work.
New era
“Massey Ferguson is extending our new era of straightforward and dependable tractors to the MF 7S Series,” says Raph Hymus, Product Marketing Manager HHP and Specialty Tractors, Massey Ferguson ANZ.
“At the same time, we are introducing new levels of comfort, control, convenience and connectivity with the addition of new technology and features first seen on the award-winning MF 8S Series.
“The MF 7S brings big benefits to all your operations – whether that’s a contracting business, larger farm or mixed enterprise.”
