Massey Ferguson has launched the new 5700 SL series tractors with four models that will complement the 85 to 105hp MF 5600 series.
"The MF 5700 SL series introduces a new genre of tractors that build on the success of the MF 5600 series," says Massey Ferguson Product Manager, John Horan.
"They mould together the compact dimensions required by livestock and mixed farmers with the performance and power needed for broad-acre work."
He adds the MF 5700 SL series pairs perfectly with Massey Ferguson's loaders and is suited for a wide range of field and transport work.
The new models are powered by AGCO Power's 4.4-litre four-cylinder engines that feature a maintenance-free 'all-in-one' Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system and Diesel Oxidation Catalyser (DOC). The engines meet US Tier 4/Euro Stage IV engine emissions standards.
All the MF 5700 SL series tractors can be specified with a choice of either the Dyna-4 or Dyna-6 transmissions.
The Dyna-6 transmission provides clutchless operation of six speeds in four ranges providing a total of 24 forward and 24 reverse speeds. The Dyna-4 transmission offers 16 forward and 16 reverse speeds with four Dynashift speeds in four ranges.
Both transmission options come with a brake to neutral function and the option of AutoDrive, which provides automatic changing of the four or six steps in fieldwork, as well as the ranges when in transport.
Customers can opt for a front axle suspension system which has been built and developed by Massey Ferguson. The system uses a suspension arm mounted between a special cast engine oil sump and specific, new front axle support with electro-hydraulic control.
All models are equipped with a 100 litre/min combined flow hydraulic system. This system can combine the flow from the 58 litre/min linkage pump along with 42 litres/min from an additional high pressure pump, which provides greater flow for the loader.
When not combined, one pump supplies the linkage and the other pump the spool valves. An additional, separate pump provides for all the internal services.
The cab has been borrowed from Massey Ferguson's larger tractor models with the same levels of comfort and control.
A new Speedsteer option allows operators to vary the number of steering wheel revolutions needed to turn the wheels from lock-to-lock. This helps loading operations and headland turns to be made more quickly and with less effort, Massey Ferguson says.
Users can activate and disengage the system easily and make adjustments on the dashboard screen. It also turns off automatically at speeds of more than 20km/h.
The MF 5700 SL tractors feature the same dashboard colour display as that of the range-topping MF 8700 series. They are also available with the optional Auto-Guide 3000 automatic steering as well as the AgCommand telemetry system.
The recently introduced 'Go Mode' on Auto-Guide 3000 provides a fast set-up and enables users to choose between four steering paths – A-B line, A+ heading, Centre Pivot and curved lines.
Customers can opt to buy the MF 5700 SL tractors 'loader ready' from the factory, in which a sub-frame, dedicated pipework and mechanical or electronic joysticks will be installed to fully integrate the loader into the tractor.
Massey Ferguson says stock of the MF 5700 SL series will start arriving in Australia in early 2017, with prices starting from $98,600 plus GST (for the 100hp MF 5710 SL).
